Our Call of Duty 4 invite team is attending “New Hope” this weekend, a LAN event in Prague, Czech Republic. The line-up has been changed often the last months. The current line-up is as follows: W1zard, H1dzR, Slymon, dakkaz and dynz. Last mentioned member, Jerre “dynz” van den Berg joined the line-up last week, as a replacement for Remy “yoyoo” Hendrix. The last LAN they attended was The Party 11 where they took the 4th place. With the addition of “dynz” they hope for better results. Prior to “New Hope” there was an online cup hosted by Epic Vision where they placed second.

With Treyarch’s newest release: Call of Duty Black Ops 2, Call of Duty 4 had a really hard time the last few months. Because the community was desperate for a new boost competitively. A lot of people were hoping Black Ops 2 would succeed. So with their hopes high, a lot of players switched to Black Ops 2. Due the switch the CoD community split up and left several players in uncertainty. With the hype around Black Ops 2 fading away, Call of Duty 4 is slowly getting stronger.

New Hope is the biggest LAN Call of Duty 4 has seen recently, with most of the top teams from Europe attending. AVENUE is representing the BeNeLux since we are the only team from the BeNeLux attending. Most of the teams are coming from East-Europe with a few other teams from Germany, United Kingdom and Finland.

We want to wish our Call of Duty 4 team good luck and a lot of fun in Prague this weekend.

A new day on the horizon for Call of Duty 2 community as the recent event in Prague brought lots of players back interested in this game and who can blame them? Call of Duty 2 has been a very competitive game throughout the entire cod series and the move onto Call of Duty 4 left some die hard players back in the scene of cod2. The main reason players didn’t switched instantly to cod4 was the fps problems, everyone had them and those denying…are not that good of a liar. Anyways, the game has caught some dust on the cover as nowadays the games are purchased online and by online key-stores such as one of our partners; Kinguin. But the event in Prague arranged by gamers at the epic venue of District Prague was meant to be the boost the scene needed and it seems that it did shake up the codscene. 30 teams arrived on the venue leaving only one winning team standing.

Therefor AVENUE wasn’t meant to leave behind this scene and wanted to bring in a team for this particular game and by that said, we present to you a brand new team playing under the Avenue Flag!

-          Erwin “BokzeH” Verhoeven
-          Robin "Drosser" Merks
-          Dennis "Appel" Merks
-          Rick "Fristi" van Well
-          Thomas "Ambianz" van Schaik

With their back-up:
-          Rob "Gekbek" Heeling
-          Lex "Lexxus" Schilperoort

Statement BokzeH:
"This felt like the right move for our team. We used to play for team-21 with a group of friends and were willing to improve our skills in the game by spending some real time in it. Seeing as it went down in Prague got us even more motivated to continue in what we feel the right move. Playing for Avenue will create a certain pressure on the valve for us as team as the team feels the need to perform better than that they’ve shown so far."

Statement Thmzy:
"Bringing this team feels real good as I know BokzeH in real life as a good friend. He always preferred the game above cod4 and that shows some dedication. He and his team if I may call it “his” team performed before and are willing to do so again as they have a long history together. A Long break for about a year didn’t stop them from playing this game individually and now they are back."

Currently the team is performing on Clanbase circulating around the 1200 points, but this fresh new adventure is an opportunity for them to show us as community what they can bring. With their aim set sharp on 1600-1700 points this “challenge” is all that they need to move along as team.
